Who and what were studied?
Check population, sample size and follow-up. Laboratory cells, healthy volunteers and people with a particular condition answer different questions. A mechanism is not a demonstrated customer outcome.
What was the comparison?
Look for a control group, random allocation and blinded assessment. Distinguish changes within one group from differences between groups. Consider uncertainty and dropouts.
Which device and exposure?
Check spectrum, irradiance, dose, distance, exposed area and timing. Sharing a wavelength does not make devices equivalent. Separate general research from the model documentation.
What are the limitations?
Read funding and conflicts of interest; seek independent confirmation. Include null findings. A source should support the exact statement, without turning an experiment into a treatment recommendation.
How we select sources
We link identifiable scientific publications and report findings and limitations, including null results. This initial collection is not a systematic review. Studies of particular devices and protocols do not establish outcomes for ARES products.
